Abraham Azubuike

He is Head of Information Analysis and Metadata Unit of the United Nations Dag Hammarskjold Library, New York. He was previously Chief Librarian, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Bibliographer/Indexer, Principal Librarian at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Ibadan, Nigeria; and Senior Reference Librarian at the Vienna International Centre Library - then the joint library of United Nations system organizations located in Vienna, Austria.

He earned an honours degree in science and education from the University of Benin, Nigeria; Master of Library Studies (MLS) from the University of Ibadan; and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. He has over 30 years of experience in library and information services mostly within the global public policy environment.

His research and advocacy interests are centered on access to knowledge and information for development. He is professionally active in International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), including as Member of IFLA Committee on Standards (2013-2017) and Convener of IFLA Access to Information Network-Africa (2013-2017).
